It’s so hard, yet so satisfying

Friday, November 25th, 2005

So here I am again, updating my blog.  It’s been quite hard trying to commit to a weekly update so I do it whenever I get the chance.  So, since my bday, things have really picked up!  3 papers and 4 presentations, President and VP elections for AIESEC Manitoba, homework, homework, homework, 2 jobs, friends and a very active social/commerce/personal life!  I ask myself sometimes, how I manage to do it all, but I actually don’t know.  It’s been a learning experience certainly for me.  I’m very blessed to have the chance to do it all.

So, I’m the new incoming president of AIESEC (my student group at Asper School of Business - www.aiesec.ca/manitoba).  It sure was tough running because it meant incredible committment to the organization more more work for myself.  Going in my final year next year, its’s certainly going to be tough being president.  Last week, I had the rest of my executive team for next year elected.  Welcome Jomar (VPMD), Pedro (VPOGX), Chelsie (VPCD), Alice (VPF), and Andrew (VPER).  Still looking for one exec (VPICX).  Its going to be an amazing year.  We’re realizing so many accounts in our pipeline and I forecast to realize more qualified companies come next term.  We’re holding the Western Regional Conference in 2006 Sept.  I can’t wait to see how things will unfold–experiences the challenges ahead, the growth I will experience, the people I’ll meet and the friends I’ll make.  I’m ready to take them all, I’m ready to be challenged!

School is kicking my butt a little bit but I’m hanging in there.  I’m doing extremely bad in one of my class but doing very good on the other 3!  So hopefully my marks hold up and my GPA doesn’t go down.  I don’t care so much about GPAs.  Im quite confident that I’ll get a job after grad.  One more year and I’m done!  Its gonna so good.  I’m not in a hurry.  I’m having the best time of my life!

Anyhow, I’m off to work :( I’ll update later again

Encapsulation of 22

It’s breathtaking to look back.  Just a couple weeks ago, I turned 23.  I look at my year and evaluate my how my year was –my decisions, the mistakes I had, the new friends I made, the adventures I took on, the challenges I faced, the good times with my friends and everything else.  It’s sometimes hard to let go of another youthful year, but nevertheless, here’s a toast to the 22nd!

I will never ever forget the trips that I’ve been to during my 22nd.  I spent the New Years in Calgary, went to Montreal in May, went to Minnesota in August, went to Vancouver for Thanks giving in October.  My bday was just a gong show going to Empire for the “mini-bday party” and having over 25 people show up for the party at the club and several more who couldn’t get in because the club was super packed!  The year certainly was filled with several disappointments but all the positive aspect of the year outweighed those disappointments.

Overall, I was very happy for what I went through.  Now moving forward in my life, I’m very excited to see what the big 23 waiting for me.  What future endeavors will I face.  I can’t wait to deal with challenges in life as well we share and make new memories with my friends.  I had a great time with you number 22, but for now, I’ll see you in my next lifetime!

In light of my new year, “Hello 23…you’re looking good today!”
