tMikey vs Philippines - Day 20
I went shopping yesterday at "Shoe Mart" which is one of the oldest shopping centers here in the Philippines. I spent about 100 cad (4500 pesos) to purchase 4 dress pants, 7 ties, jeans and socks - really good deal. Just think how much neckties are in Canada - 45 bux at TipTop (2500 pesos) versus 145 pesos (6 cad). More shopping to be done over the next week, gotta find me some good deals.
My plans to go to Boracay is sadly not gonna happen. The people that we were suppose to go with is not arriving till Wednesday and by the time they get settled, we will run out of time. There’s been a lot of deaths around my mom’s side (2 of her cousins was ambushed yesterday by unknown gunmen). She’s really not close to them so we’re really not affected. She is going to the Cavite today to pay respects while I stay behind in the city.
As an alternative, my mom, cousins and other family is going to Matabungkay, Batangas (about 5 hour drive from the city) to go to the beach. It’s very popular here in the Philippines and its one of the good beaches that’s close by.
I’m kind of getting sad that I’m leaving in 5 days. I have to get back to work right away while still in the search for a permanent placement to work at. It’s kind of depressing.
For the mean time, I’m gonna enjoy the rest of my time here. It’s been really really good. I can’t wait to come back. On the other hand, I can’t wait to go back to Canada and hang out with my friends. I can’t wait to drive, use the microwave, have a really really good functional shower, sleep in my own bed away from the bugs.
